Born in San Francisco, John attended California State University. He graduated with a degree in music and was a multi-sport athlete. His love of golf led him to a career as a PGA Professional that spans 25 years. He has held numerous positions within the industry of golf including Head Professional and Director of Instruction.
John’s 20+ years of teaching has included golfers of all ages and levels of expertise, from beginners to veteran participants. He has worked with top high school and collegiate players, as well as players at the professional level.
John, along with his wife, moved from the Bay area to Kansas to be near family, and has enjoyed the friendly Midwest lifestyle since 2010.

about the instruction
John takes a very methodical approach to the golf swing and ensures basics are mastered before expanding into more technical aspects of the game. His teaching experience around the country provides a unique outlook on how to take your game to the top. Along with golf lessons (taught at TopCITYGolf), John will be leading our junior golf programs and other various clinic throughout the summer.
